How To Use Upvc Window Fixing Cleats

I've recently purchased a wooden venetian blind to fit myself.
The bullheaded is to be fitted into the window recess, but the window is uPVC and the window recess - sides and peak lintel are covered in uPVC too.

I'm just wondering if it'due south ok to spiral into it - and if and then, which screws/fixings would be best to apply?

I've never tried to set up anything to uPVC but accept you idea of gluing a wooden crossbar to it with silicon, leaving information technology to cure, and then fixing the bullheaded to that. I did this to tiles in my bath but that was a light fabric bullheaded. Yous could give it a try and if information technology vicious off nada lost. I simply worry that if you lot screwed anything to the uPVC and then at a later appointment you wanted to change it you would never be able to fill the screw holes.

You lot could as well drill through the cloaking at the side, then use a masonry drill into the wall.

I would only set to uPVC in a situation where there is no other option, which is extremely rare. You WILL alive to regret it in the future should you wish to modify. I suggest that if yous practice the fit as you intend, fit a very expert quality bullheaded that will stand the exam of time to save having to change the blind due to deterioration.
Similar already advised, summit fix into the reveal. That way you can bring the blind forward enough to clear whatever handles.
Failing that a 1.5mm pilot pigsty and a no.eight spiral will set up into the UVPC nicely. Fix the drill to a depression torque when screwing and terminate tightening by hand.
If the window reveal has a metal lintle and then a three.5mm drill is required to take a standard no.eight screw. No need for a self tapper. You'll have to pre drill the plaster with a masonry bit kickoff to ensure you lot keep a good border on the HSS bit.
